Anaïk Morel

Anaïk Morel was born in Lyon (France). She completed her musical studies at the Conservatoire National Superieur de Musique de Lyon with Francoise Pollet and graduated top of the class. In 2004, she was awarded the Premier Prix at the Pierre Bernac Competition in St Jean de Luz, and in 2006, the Prix du Public and the Second Prix at the International Competition for Chamber Music in Lyon where she distinguished herself as a passionate interpret of french songs and lieder.

In 2006 she joined the Opera Studio of the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich where she stayed for 2 years. From 2008 through 2010 she was a member of the Ensemble of the Bayerische Staatsoper where she performed in Carmen (Mercedes), Nabucco (Fenena), Falstaff (Meg Page), Hänsel und Gretel (Hänsel), Dialogues des Carmélites (Soeur Mathilde), Palestrina (Silla) and Die schweigsame Frau (Carlotta).

Meanwhile she has performed at the Bayerische Staatsoper (Die Tragödie des Teufels by Peter Eöstvös, Federica in Luisa Miller), at the Staatsoper Berlin as well as at the Teatro alla Scala (Die Walküre), at the Besançon Opera (Maddalena in Rigoletto), at the Opéra national de Lorraine (Lazuli in L'Etoile), at the Staatstheater Saarbrücken and at the Staatsoper Stuttgart (Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust). Upcoming plans include Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites (Mère Marie) for her debut at the Opéra national de Lyon, Offenbach’s Barbe Bleue (Boulotte) at the Opéra national de Lorraine and Carmen (title role) at the Staatsoper Stuttgart.

Anaïk Morel appears regularly in concert and recital. She has recently performed with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal under the baton of Kent Nagano (L'Enfant et les sortilèges), the Orchestre de Bretagne (Marguerite in La Damnation de Faust), the Orchestre de Picardie (Landowski's La Prison), the Orchestre national de Lyon (Stravinski's Pulcinella) and the Orchestre symphonique et lyrique de Nancy (Beethoven's 9th Symphony). Further plans include Schumann's Das Paradies und die Peri with the orchestra Musiques des Lumières, Berlioz' L'Enfance du Christ with the Orchestre national de Lyon and a recital at the Amphithéâtre of the Opéra Bastille.
