Daniel Gwon

Daniel Gwon obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Korea National University of Arts in Seoul and then a master’s from the Hochschule für Musik in Detmold, where he was taught by Chuljun Kim and Markus Köhler. He has made his mark at several international competitions, winning Second Prize at the Valsesia Musica International Competition in 2022, First Prize at the Concorso Salvatore Licitra, and First Prize at the Competizione dell’Opera, which took place in Moscow the same year. He also won Second Prize at the Grandi Voci competition in Salzburg and at the Klaudia Taev competition in Pärnu in Estonia. Daniel Gwon has performed in roles such as Marcello in La Bohème and the Count in The Marriage of Figaro at the Landestheater in Detmold and performed last season as a soloist in Mendelssohn’s Paulus with the Philharmonisches Orchester Hagen.
