Enriched by her Greek-American heritage, Eleni Matos was honored to sing the Verdi Requiem, at the foot of Acropolis, at Greece's week-long remembrance of Maria Callas broadcast on Greek National Television. Her debut recording of Haydn Arias can be heard on the ERI label.
Eleni Matos is a winner in an unprecedented thirty-three national and international vocal competitions including: The Maria Callas, Luciano Pavarotti, Queen Elisabeth, Florida Grand Opera, George London, Palm Beach Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, and Caruso Competitions among others. She has performed on many of the worlds greatest stages including: Lyric Opera of Chicago, Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, The Megaron, Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, etc., along with some of the greatest classical singers including: Jane Eaglen, Johann Botha, Ben Heppner, Ruth Ann Swenson, June Anderson, Dimitri Hvorostovsky, Renee Fleming, Samuel Ramey. She has performed under the baton of Zubin Mehta, Leonard Slatkin, and Daniel Barenboim among others.
