Having studied the piano and the harp, Emoke Baráth began singing at the Franz Liszt Academy in Budapest, with Júlia Pászthy. She was a laureate at the A. Dvorák international singing competition in 2009 and, in 2011, won first prize and the public’s prize at the international competition for Baroque opera in Innsbruck and the main prize at the Festival de Verbier. She has performed in Hungary, France (Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées), Switzerland, Germany, Austria (Theater an der Wien, Konzerthaus), Russia, and the Netherlands (Concertgebouw), where she played roles such as Nanetta (in Falstaff by Verdi), Euridice (in Orfeo by Monteverdi), Zerlina (in Don Giovanni by Mozart) and Almirena (in Rinaldo by Haendel).
