Chen Jiafeng studied the violin in his home town before going on to further studies at Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester and later at the Royal College of Music in London with Jan Repko. Currently, he is studying at The Juilliard School with Cho-Liang Lin and Ronald Copes. He has given a number of recitals in China, the UK, the US, South Africa, and various European countries. He has taken part in several festivals, including the BBC Proms, the Verbier Festival and the Lake District Music Festival, and has worked with the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, The Halle Orchestra, Manchester Camerata, Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Tapiola Sinfonietta (Paavo Berglund), Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie (Paul Goodwin), the National Orchestra of Belgium (Gilbert Varga), and the National Orchestra of Ukraine, among others. A laureate of a number of competitions, he won first prize at the Wieniawski Competition in 2003, second prize at both the Sibelius Competition (2005), the Yehudi Menuhin Competition (2008) and the Windsor International String Competition (2011).
