PIANO 2016 : Laureate
After giving her first recital at the age of nine and playing the complete Chopin Études in concert at thirteen, Kana Okada
started two years later at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris, where she is currently pursuing further studies under Frank Braley. A laureate of the Épinal International Piano Competition (France) in 2009, she won both the Francis Poulenc International Competition and the Piano Campus Competition in 2013. Kana Okada has performed in the United States (California), Japan (Kawai Concerts Series, La Folle Journée), Belgium (Festival International de Quaregnon), France (Festival Chopin de Bagatelle, Piano en Valois), Italy, Morocco, and Germany. She has played with orchestras such as the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra and the Simón Bolívar Symphony Orchestra. Engagements in 2016 include appearances in Japan and in France, conducted by, among others, Kobayashi Kenichiro.
