Born in Verviers, Sébastien Parotte showed the desire to sing at a very early stage. He was chosen by the Opéra Royal in Liège and the La Monnaie Opera to act as a boy soloist. The versatile musician has completed a Kontrabasstudium at the Royal Conservatory in Liège and has performed with the symphony orchestras of Liège and the Opera of Liège. At age 17 he joined the singing class of Mya Besselink at the University of Maastricht, where he obtained his Master degree. Since then, Sébastien Parotte is engaged regularly in opera productions.

He was employed by Jeunesse Musicales Germany for the productions of La Traviata for the role of Baron (2005) and as Don Magnifico in La Cenerentola (2007). He then became a member of the Opera School of the Opéra National du Rhin. In 2008 he enrolled as a student at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel Opera Studio under the direction of José van Dam. From 2010 to 2011 Sébastien Parotte sang in The Wailing Song by Mahler in a production of the Théâtre de la Monnaie, then with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège in Ravel's L'Enfant et les Sortilèges (in the roles of the tree and the armchairs) and in L'Etoile by Chabrier at the Limoges theatre. In the season 2011/2012 he performed in La Rondine at the Opéra National de Lorraine and Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Opéra National de Bordeaux.

Since the season 2012/2013 he has been engaged at the Staatstheater Nürnberg, where he sang among other roles, Leporello in Don Giovanni.
