VIOLIN 1976 : Tenth Prize
Upon graduating from Music High School in Wrocław Tadeusz Gadzina began to study at the State Higher School of Music in Warsaw in Professor Zenon Bąkowski’s class. He perfected his skills at Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Yehudi Menuhin and Yfran Neaman.
Tadeusz Gadzina has won prizes at several international violin competitions including the J. Sibelius Helsinki, N. Paganini Genoa, H. Wieniawski Poznań, Flesh London and Queen Elisabeth Competitions. In 1993 he also won a gold medal at the International Prize Winners’ Contest in Plewen, Bulgaria. He has been very successful both as a soloist and as a chamber music performer. He has been the first violinist in the Wilanów Quartet ever since the group was founded, i.e. from 1967 to this day.
As a soloist he has made many radio, television and record recordings. For example, he made a record of Witold Lutosławski and Karol Szymanowski’s music. He performs regularly in Europe, Japan, USA, Brasil and Canada.
He has conducted many master courses in Poland and abroad. He also co-operates with the Japanese chamber orchestra Tokio Solisten with which he made a record production of J. S. Bach’s works.
