Video-preselection

Three pieces in at least two different languages, from at least two different periods, performed with piano accompaniment. The videos are screened by the jury members of the preselection, in order to select the candidates who can participate in the first public round.

First round

Each candidate will perform two pieces of their own choosing (opera arias, oratorio arias, Lieder or art songs), in different languages and of different periods, with piano accompaniment. After the drawing of lots of Friday 19 May, the candidates’ repertoire and their order of appearance will be published in the First round calendar.

Semi-final

At each session, six semi-finalists will perform with piano accompaniment. Each semi-finalist will play the recital programme chosen by the jury from the two programs proposed by the candidate. You can discover the jury's choice of recital in the Semi-final calendar, the day before the candidate's performance.

Final

Each evening, four finalists will sing three to six pieces of their own choice, including at least one opera aria and in at least two different languages. They will be accompanied by the La Monnaie Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alain Altinoglu. After the semi-final, the repertoire chosen by the finalists and their order of appearance will be indicated in the Calendar of the final.
