Andreï Korsakov, a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory, was a pupil of Boris Belenky and Leonid Kogan. When still a student, he was a prizewinner of the Paganini Competition, the Jacques Thibaud Competition and the contest in Montreal. Later on, he became a laureate of Tchaikovsky Competition and the Queen Elisabeth Competition. He performed worldwide with outstanding conductors and orchestras. Since 1981, Andreï Korsakov had been the artistic director and leading violinist of the Concertino chamber ensemble. He was a prominent pedagogue; he taught at the Moscow Conservatory and gave master classes in France.
