Gabrielle Philiponet was born in France and studied as a flutist before singing. Her singing teacher is Daniel Ottevaere. She was a member of the Opera Studio of the Chapelle Musicale Reine Elisabeth in Brussels und was a prize winner of the prestigious Reine Elisabeth Competition. She has performed roles such as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) at the Opéra national de Lorraine, Musetta (La Bohème) at the Opéra de Marseille, Despina (Così fan tutte) at the Opéra de Toulon, Corinna (Il viaggio a Reims) on tour throughout France, Eurydice (Orphée aux Enfers) at the Opéra National de Montpellier, le Feu, la Princesse and le Rossignol (L'Enfant et les Sortilèges) with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal. She was also La Fée (Cendrillon by Massenet) at the Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie and at the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, Lauretta (Gianni Schicci) with the Belgian National Orchestra, Rosalinde (La chauve-souris) in Avignon, Magda (La Rondine) at the Opéra national de Lorraine. She has recently performed Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) at the Angers Nantes Opera, Fiordiligi (Cosi fan tutte) at the Rouen Opera, Lisa (The Land of smiles) at the Tours Opera, Frasquita (Carmen) for her debut at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, at the Bayerische Staatoper Munich and at the Opéra de Paris. She made also her debut as Mimi (La Boheme) on tour in Spain, performed Musetta (La Boheme) and Micaëla (Carmen) at the Metz Opera and the Massy Opera, Adina (L'Elisir d'amore) and Leïla (Les Pêcheurs de perles) at the Nice Opera, Marguerite (Faust) at the Saint-Etienne Opera and Violetta (La Traviata) at the New Orleans Opera for her US debut. She went back to the USA in 2017 performing Rameau's Le Temple de la gloire in San Francisco. Her plans in 2019/20 include Leila (Les Pêcheurs de perles) and Alice (Falstaff) at the Lille Opera as well as Adina (L'elisir d'amore) at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse. Her discography includes Scène de Chasse by René Koering (une Amazone) for Universal Music, Sémiramis by Catel (Azéma) for Glossa, Un mari à la porte (Rosita) by Offenbach with the Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, works by Max d'Ollone, Dimitri by Victorin Joncières and Adrien by Etienne-Nicolas Méhul, the three of them in the frame of the editions by the Centre de Musique Romantique française - Palazzetto Bru Zane. Released in 2018 in the "Prix de Rome" collection of the Palazzetto Bru Zane, cantatas and sacred music by Charles Gounod in order to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the French composer's birthday, with Brussels Philharmonic, Vlaams Radio Koor and Hervé Niquet conducting.
