Mariana Zvetkova

Mariana Zvetkova was born and raised in Bulgaria. After completing her degrees at the Academy of Music in Sofia, she began her career in Bulgaria, singing the lead roles in IL Trovatore, Aida, Tannhaeuser. To further her professional studies, she went to Italy to study with Boris Christoff at The Academy of Arts and Culture in Rome and at The Indiana University with Martina Arroyo.
Since then, Mariana embarked upon her international career, which has taken her to La Scala in Milano, Munich State Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Tokyo National Theater, Lyon National Orchester, Radio France, Semper Oper in Dresden among others.
Under the batton of Giuseppe Sinopoli, Ms Zvetkova recorded Dvorak’s Stabat Mater with Deutsche Gramophon Label; Beethoven‘s 9th Symphony with Radio France and Evgeny Svetlanov; Rachmaninoff’s “Opera Highlights from Aleko-The Misery Knight-Francesca da Rimini” with Sofia National Opera Chorus and Orchestra and Nayden Todorov; The Mahler’s 4th Symphony with Radio Sofia Orchestra .
Mariana Zvetkova has won The Grand Prix of The International Competition in Toulouse in 1998, is a Laureate of the Queen Elisabeth Competition (1996) and 2nd Prize Winner at The Puccini Foundation Competition in New York in 1999.
She is a recipient of Grants and Awards from The Olga Forrai Foundation, The Singers Development Foundation, The Gerda Lissner Foundation and The Sullivan Foundation. Ms Zvetkova resides in the USA.
