Patrice Challulau is a pupil of Louis Saguer and Franco Donatoni. He is a member of the Casa Velázquez in Madrid and of the Lourmarin Laurent-Vibert Foundation. He received the Jean-Gabriel Marie Prize of the Marseille Academy for his entire work (1992) and the Georges Wildenstein Prize of the French Fine Art Academy (1997). He is a laureate of more than 30 international composition competitions including the Vienna-Mozart-Hauptpreis for the bicentenary, The Andrés Segovia Prize in Madrid, The Valentino Bucchi Prize in Roma and the Queen Elisabeth Competition.

As a composer he has written more than 160 works - which have been played in Europe, Asia and in the Americas. For a number of years his work has been directed towards mastering a polysemic style.
