SINGING 1988 : Twelfth Prize
Ruxandra Van der Plas-Voda was Born in Romania. At the age of six she was enrolled for a music education at the conservatory by her mother, also a trained singer. She first learned to play the piano. Later singing lessons were added.
After winning several prizes Ruxandra had her first engagements, first in Bielefeld, then in Karlsruhe as a member of the Badisches Staatstheater, until 1998. In the meantime she has established herself as a free-lance singer.
She has been a laureate of the following competitions: Toti dal Monte, Treviso (Italy), Francisco Vinas, Barcelona (Spain), Queen Elisabeth Competition, De Zilveren Vriendenkrans, Amsterdam (Holland) and the International Vocalisten Concours, s'Hertogenbosch (Holland).
Ruxandra has been invited to sing in Antwerp, Bern, Berlin, Bologna, Darmstadt, Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hagen, Hamburg, Kaiserslautern, Kiel, Klagenfurt, Wiesbaden and München.
