PIANO 2013 : Laureate
Sangyoung Kim started her training at the Korea National University of Arts and studied further at the New England Conservatory in Boston under Russell Sherman and Wha Kyung Byun. She has appeared in recital in the United States, in Canada, in a number of European cities (e.g., at the Festival de Courchevel and at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki), in Israel (at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art), and in Korea. She has also performed as a soloist with the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra, the Concord Orchestra, and the Seoul Symphony Orchestra. A laureate of numerous national and international competitions, her awards have included the 1st Prize in the USASU Bösendorfer, Arizona (2008), and Heida Hermanns (Westport, Connecticut, 2006) competitions.
