Sylvia Huang

In 2004, Sylvia Huang was a laureate of the Breughel Competition before going on to take first prize in the Belfius Classics Competition. In 2008, she won first prize in the Lions European Music Competition. She played in the European Union Youth Orchestra from 2009 to 2010 and joined the Belgian National Orchestra in 2012. Since 2014, she has been first violinist of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra Amsterdam. A keen chamber musician, she joined forces with three of her colleagues in September 2014 to found the GoYa Quartet Amsterdam, with which she performs regularly both in the Netherlands and abroad. She has taken part in a number of international festivals, including the B-Classic Festival van Vlaanderen and the Echappees Musicales du Medoc. She is currently pursuing further studies at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under Liviu Prunaru.
