Victor Lyadov

A prominent Russian pianist, Victor Lyadov studied with such famous piano mentors as Nina Tolkachova, Vladimir Bunin and Ksenia Knorre. He graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and completed his Masters Degree with Tatiana Nikolaeva. He was later appointed her assistant and is now considered by the Conservatory Board as her genuine successor.
Victor Lyadov was born in 1966. He started his piano education at an ordinary music school, but soon showed an exceptional talent, and, having studied piano for 4 years, performed Beethoven 1st Piano Concerto with Saratov Symphony Orchestra. Performing the following year Beethoven Sonata op.10.3, Liszt Hungarian Rhapsody No.13, and Beethoven Concerto No.3 won him the 1st Prize at the Saratov Regional Competition. His early musical talent further developed during his study at the world-renowned Central Music School in Moscow.
While still a student of the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory Victor Lyadov’s concert career took off. Alongside with performing in his native country both as a soloist and with an orchestra, he won his first award at the Robert Schumann International Competition in Zwickau, Germany (1989). After graduating from the Moscow Conservatory in 1989, he gained an international reputation winning prizes at the Paloma O’Shea International Piano Competition in Santander, Spain (1990), the Queen Sonja International Piano Competition in Oslo, Norway (1992), the International Piano Competition in Hamamatsu, Japan (1994) and the Queen Elisabeth Competition (1995).
Victor Lyadov visited many countries for concert tours and to give master classes: Yugoslavia, Lithuania, Poland, Norway, Great-Britain, USA, Spain, Germany, Austria, Belgium, South Korea, Japan, Ecuador. In Japan alone he played at over 90 locations followed by winning the 1st prize at the Hamamatsu Competition.
He played with such famous orchestras and conductors as Orquesta Sinfónica de Radiotelevisión Española, Spain (Árpád Joó), Orquesta Filarmónica de Córdoba, Spain (Luis Bedmar), Orquesta Filarmónica de Sevilla, Spain (Vjekoslav Šutej), Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Great Britain (Antoni Ros-Marbà), Warsaw National Philharmony, Poland (Kazimierz Kord), Oslo Filharmoniske Orkester, Norway (Yoav Talmi), Orchester der Stadt Zwickau, Germany (Albrecht Hoffmann), Royal Flemish Philharmonic, Belgium (Grant Llewellyn), Orchestre Philharmonique de Liège, Belgium (Pierre Bartholomée), Orquesta Sinfónica de Guayaquil, Ecuador (Andrei Vasilevsky) and several orchestras of Russia, Ukraine and Japan.
Victor Lyadov has recorded a number of CD's for Pro Musica (Norway), Fontec (Japan), ALM Records (Japan), Musica Numeris (Belgium) and RS Real Sound (Italy). He often comments for radio programs channeling his love for music to wide audiences and winning public acclaim far beyond his native country.
