Yu Shao was trained at the Shanghai Conservatory and then at the Conservatoire Régional d’Aubervilliers in France. He is currently studying at the Queen Elisabeth Musical Chapel under the tutelage of José Van Dam. He is also taking part in master classes with Helmut Deutsch. In 2011, he became a regular tenor in the Radio France choir. On stage, he has played Orfeo (Orfeo by Monteverdi), Lindbergh (Vol sur l’Océan by Weill), Mercure (Orphée aux Enfers by Offenbach) and Basilio (Le Nozze di Figaro by Mozart). In 2013, he performed in a recital at the Marc Chagall Museum in Nice. This year, he sang in the Royal Palace (Brussels) in Pulcinella (by Stravinsky) with the la Monnaie/de Munt Symphony Orchestra, directed by Ludovic Morlot.
