And the six finalists are ...

On Saturday night the 15th of May, the chairman of the jury has announced the names of the candidates who go through to the final of the 2021 Piano Competition. Due to the sanitary measures in force, the Competition decided to select only six pianists instead of twelve.

In alphabetical order, the finalists of the 2021 piano competition are:

Jonathan Fournel, 27, France
Keigo Mukawa, 28, Japan
Sergei Redkin, 29, Russia
Tomoki Sakata, 27, Japan
Dmitry Sin, 26, Russia
Vitaly Starikov, 26, Russia

Following their order of appearance they will enter the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel one by one, to study the unpublished compulsory final work. The final round will take place at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts, from Monday 24 to Saturday 29 May.
