06/01/2025 In the world of classical music in Belgium, there are three important institutions linked by the name of Queen Elisabeth. The Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, orchestra in residence of the Queen Elisabeth Hall, is delighted to present together with the Music Chapel the Elisabeth Week (from 16 to 19 January 2025), the focus of which is a laureate from the Queen Elisabeth Competition.
This year's central guest, First Laureate of the 2022 Cello Competition Hayoung Choi, will unleash her energy on, amongst others, Lutosławski's daring
Cello Concerto, with which she won the 2022 Competition, and a new symphonic work by Piet Swerts, First Laureate of the 1987 Composition Competition.
During the recitals at the Music Chapel and AMUZ she will share the stage with leaders from the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra and musicians from the Music Chapel. Together they will perform Tchaikovsky's
String Sextet in d and Puccini’s
