02/05/2025 The first round of the 21st edition dedicated to the piano is about to start at Studio 4 of Flagey! The order of appearance of the candidates from Monday 5 until Saturday 10 May has been determined by drawing of lots. Download the schedule on the bottom of the page.

60 candidatesAs some of the 70 candidates have withdrawn, there are 60 pianists who will participate in the first round. Find out more about the candidates on their
personal pages.
ProgrammeEach candidate will perform works or parts of works that the jury selects from: the first movement of a sonata by Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven, a work of choice and four études (one by Chopin, one by Liszt, one by Ligeti and an étude of choice, written by another composer than Chopin, Liszt or Ligeti).

Jury and accompanistsThe performances of the candidates will be judged by an eminent jury panel of teachers, soloists and music professionals, presided by Gilles Ledure. Find out more about them on the

Proclamation of the semi-finalistsDue to the technical preparations for the semi-final, the first round proclamation will not be live streamed. The names of the 24 semi-finalists will be announced on our website after midnight on Saturday 10 May.
