09/05/2023 A finalist of the International Hans Gabor Belvedere Singing Competition in 2022, Marianne Croux released her first solo CD last October and for next season no less than three CD releases are planned. Since her participation in the Queen Elisabeth Competition, she has had recurring engagements at the Opéra National de Paris, where she was a member of the Academy, she was in residence at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence and made her debut at the Capitole de Toulouse and at the Opera of Rome.
In 2022, Marianne Croux toured France in Poulenc's
Stabat Mater with the a cappella choir Aedes and the ensemble Les Siècles, under the musical direction of Mathieu Romano. A recording of the project will be released in fall 2023. She participated in the La folle soirée de l’Opéra, broadcast on Radio Classique, with the Orchestre national d'Île-de-France. And in the summer, she sang at the festivals of Aix-en-Provence, Moments musicals de la baie du Mont Saint-Michel and Chaise Dieu.
Recently, the soprano reunited with Eva Zaïcik, also a laureate in 2018, and the Ensemble Miroirs Étendus in
The Tragedy of Carmen by Georges Bizet on a tour of France. At the Dijon Opera, she was The governess in
The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten. In Munich, she interpreted Eunoé in a concertante version of
Ariadne by Jules Massenet with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester. A recording, produced by Palazzetto Bru Zane, will also be released next season.
Last October, Marianne Croux launched the very first recording of the
Douze Chants de Bilitis by the French composer Rita Strohl (1865-1941), with Anne Bertin-Hugault at the piano. The disc received five stars from Classica: “Marianne Croux has an interesting lyrical soprano voice, perfectly suited to the sensuality of Louÿsian prose". Another album with salon music with the Héxaméron ensemble and Cyrille Dubois is planned for the 23-24 season.
At the end of May, she will appear in recital at the Capitole de Toulouse with Florence Boissolle. In summer, several festivals are scheduled, including the lyrical festival of Monperreux, "les escapades musicales" in Arcachon and the role of Micaêla in
The Tragedy of Carmen at the St-Céré festival, as well as a concert for the 100th anniversary of the Villa Nouailles in Hyères.
Next season, Marianne Croux will return to Munich as Marie-Anne in Reynaldo Hahn's
O my beautiful stranger with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester and the Palazzetto Bru Zane. She is delighted with her debut as Blanche de la Force in
Les dialogues des carmélites by Poulenc at the Opéra de Massy. Collaborations with various orchestras are also planned, in particular with the Orchestre Victor Hugo - Franche Comté in Besançon, the Orchestre de Lorraine and the Orchestre de Normandie.
