20/02/2025 We are proud to announce the names of the talented young pianists selected for the first round of the 2025 Piano Competition, taking place from Monday 5 to Saturday 10 May at Flagey.
The candidates70 candidates were selected to participate in the first public round of this session.
Discover their profiles on the candidates' webpage! Video preselectionNo less than 289 pianists aged between 18 and 31 years old have applied for this 21st piano edition. Each of them had recorded four works for the video preselection round: a fugue from the
Die Kunst der Fuge by Bach, a sonata by Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, or Schubert, a Chopin étude, and a work of choice.
Preselection juryThe preselection took place behind closed doors at the end of January. An international jury consisting of François-Frédéric Guy, Daejin Kim, Momo Kodama, Julien Libeer, Jan Michiels, Jean-Claude Vanden Eynden and Boyan Vodenitcharov reunited under the presidency of Gilles Ledure. The names of the jury members of the public competition rounds will be announced at a later date.
BookingThe order in which the candidates will appear in the first public round will be announced after the drawing of lots, on Friday night 2 May. Tickets for all competition round and the laureates' concerts at Flagey and the Centre for Fine Arts are already on sale.
