28/06/2021 Following the dramatic floods that have hit our country and in respect of the national mourning that will be observed on July 20, the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition, together with its partners Bozar and the Belgian National Orchestra, has decided to cancel the concert traditionally given as a prelude to the National Holiday on the eve of July 21.
We thank you for your understanding in these sad circumstances.
The concert that traditionally takes place on the eve of the Belgian National Holiday, will be performed in the presence of an audience, on Tuesday July 20th. This year we celebrate the twentieth edition of this exceptional free concert. The Colombian cellist Santiago Cañón-Valencia, laureate of the 2017 Queen Elisabeth Cello Competition, will perform with the Belgian National Orchestra in the Henry Le Boeuf hall of the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels (Bozar), in the presence of His Majesty the King and Her Majesty the Queen.
We are sorry, but all seats for the concert have been distributed on the first day of booking. Registrations are now closed.
This concert is organised by the Queen Elisabeth Competition, in collaboration with the Belgian National Orchestra and Bozar, thanks to the support of the FPS Chancellery of the Prime Minister and the National Lottery.
