To organise a huge international event such as the Queen Elisabeth Competition during a pandemic would not have been possible without the precious help and support of many.
Our gratitude to Her Majesty Queen Mathilde for her Patronage and continuous support to the young musicians.
Our deepest thanks to our media partners RTBF and VRT, Flagey, Bozar and the Music Chapel, Pianos Maene, Steinway & Sons, the Belgian National Orchestra, the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, conductors Hugh Wolff and Frank Braley, composers Bruno Mantovani and Pierre Jodlowski.
A special thank you to our structural sponsors BNP Paribas Fortis, Proximus, Total, Rolex, and the National Lottery, our patrons and all the prize givers.
Our gratefulness to the ones who have donated the tickets they had bought for the initial Piano Competition in 2020, and to the viewers of the live streaming who made gifts in order to support the young pianists.
And many thanks to the eminent jury members, the health commission, the host families and volunteers, and, last but not least, all the amazing pianists who participated in this year's very special edition!
Finally, our recognition goes to our audience, who have continued to follow the Competition in big numbers through the many broadcasts offered this year.
We are looking forward to sharing these special musical moments again with the audience in the concert
halls next year, in May 2022, for the second edition of the Cello Competition!
"Musicians don't want prizes, they want to be heard.
And sometimes it takes unique events like this one to get people to listen."
Shai Wosner, Piano 2021 jury member
