Unpublished imposed works for the Piano competition

At each instrumental session, the Queen Elisabeth Competition calls on two composers for the creation of the unpublished compulsory works. For this year's piano session Pierre Jodlowski has written the semi-final work for piano solo and Bruno Mantovani has composed a work for piano and orchestra for the final.

The candidates receive the semi-final work upon the acceptance of their application. As for the finalists, they only receive the score one week before the date of their performance at the Brussels Centre for Fine Arts. During that week, the finalists are secluded in the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, to prepare for the final.
