PIANO 2025 : Laureate
A student of the late Lars Vogt at Hannover’s Hochschule für Musik, Rachel Breen previously completed degrees at Yale University and The Juilliard School. She has enjoyed an active competition career, winning top prizes at the Premi Iturbi (2023), Hans von Bülow Competition (2023), Bösendorfer Competition (2023), Honens Competition (2022), Beethoven Competition Vienna (2021) and Georges Cziffra Competition (2019), among others. She was selected as the 2021-23 National Federation of Music Clubs’ Young Artist in the US and was a 2024 Imogen Cooper Music Trust scholar. Her most recent concert seasons have featured appearances at the Chautauqua Institute, Sarasota Music Festival, Festival Piano aux Jacobins, Southeastern Piano Festival, The San Francisco International Piano Festival, Beethovenfest Bonn, Merkin Hall for IKIF, Festival Liszt en Provence, and Fazioli Hall’s Concert Series. In 2021 she featured in the podcast 30 Bach in a discussion and performance of the Goldberg Variations.
