Alex DeSocio is a graduate of Northwestern University and of the University of Maryland. His recent performances include the role of Dancairo in
Carmen at Fort Worth Opera, Schaunard in
La Bohème at Charleston Opera, Guglielmo in
Così fan tutte at LoftOpera, Dandini in
La Cenerentola at Opera Fort Collins, and Ramiro in
L’heure espagnole at Opera Memphis. In 2013, he joined the Merola Opera Program, in which he appeared in the role of Tarquinius in
The Rape of Lucretia. Previously, he was an artist in residence at Pittsburgh Opera, where he appeared in
The Magic Flute, La Bohème, Otello, and
Carmen, among other works. Alex DeSocio is a laureate of the Sullivan Foundation, the Palm Springs Opera Guild Competition, the Opera Birmingham Vocal Competition, the Shreveport Opera Competition, and the Merola Opera Program Shoshana Grant Award.
