CELLO 2026 : First Prize
The holder of a bachelor’s degree from the Santa Cecilia Conservatoire in Rome, Ettore Pagano is currently studying at the Universität der Künste Berlin under Jens Peter Maintz. Awarded the Premio Abbiati by the Italian Music Critics Association in 2025, that same year he won the ICMA Classeek Award and the ‘Una vita nella Musica - Giovani’ prize from Teatro La Fenice in Venice. In 2024 he won Second Prize, the audience award and the prize for best sonata at the Enescu Competition. In 2022 he was awarded First Prize, prize for best sonata and two special prizes at the Khachaturian Competition. Performing from an early age, he has appeared with the Düsseldorfer Philharmoniker, Graz Philharmonic and Armenian State Symphony Orchestra, among others, and has performed under such conductors as Kazuki Yamada and Hubert Soudant.
