After winning her prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition and others such as first prize at the Viotti Competition and fourth prize at the Tokyo International Competition within a period of a year and half, Mi-Joo Lee started an international carreer.
Since then she played concerts in various European countries: Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Italy, Switzerland, Poland, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Turkey, Korea, Japan,Taiwan, Brazil and the United States.

Special events were concerts with orchestra in Berlin (ten times in the Philharmonic Hall and the Konzerthaus), Brussels, Liège, Oostende, Boston, Ljubljana, Cracow, Seoul, Tokyo, Salzburg, Innsbruck, Nürnberg, Jena, Darmstadt; as well as piano recitals in the Berlin Philharmonic Hall, Paris, Orléans, Brussels, Milano, Torino, Genova, Bologna, Salzburg, Boston, at the Yokohama-Festival, Seoul, Munich, Dresden, Zwickau (Schumann's birth- house), and in many other German cities.

Besides her activities as a soloist, Mi-Joo Lee also plays chamber music (violin/piano, piano- trio, piano-quartett), - increasingly in a piano-duo team with Klaus Hellwig (one piano-four hands and two pianos). She recorded for many radio stations in Germany, Belgium, France, the Czech Republic, and Korea.

Already as a child, Mi-Joo Lee was awarded many prizes and appeared in concert and on television. She later studied in Essen (Germany), Berlin, Boston and Salzburg and participated in courses with Guido Agosti and György Sebök. She graduated from the Berlin University of the Arts with the concert examination, and the International Foundation Mozarteum awarded her with the Lilli-Lehmann-medal for outstanding artistic merit.

Mi-Joo Lee teaches at the Berlin University of the Arts since 1990 and held masterclasses in Austria, France, and Korea; she was in the juries of different international competitions.
