Xiao Wang

After training in his homeland, at the Beijing Conservatory, Xiao Wang went on to join Joseph Silverstein’s class at the Curtis Institute of Music, before going on to further studies under Lucie Robert at the Manhattan School of Music. He has taken part in master classes with, among others, Claude Franck, Menahem Pressler, and Pamela Franck. He won the Joseph Szigeti International Competition in 2012 and the Heida Hermanns International Competition in 2015. Xiao Wang has performed at the Gewandhaus in Leipzig and at Carnegie Hall in New York, with a number of orchestras, including the Kodály Philharmonic Orchestra, the Akademisches Orchester Leipzig, and the New York Philharmonic Orchestra, under conductors such as Andreas Ligeti and David Gilbert. He has also appeared at the Budapest Spring Festival and the Texas Music Festival. As a chamber musician, he has played with Philippe Entremont and with the American String Quartet.
