In less than four years, Jasmin White has reached a series of important milestones in a promising career. A member of the soloist ensemble at the Volksoper Wien, the American contralto has also appeared at other leading opera houses and with renowned ensembles across Europe and beyond.

A few months after having obtained Second Prize at the Queen Elisabeth Competition, White emerged as the winner of the Queen Sonja Singing Competition in Norway. In 2026, they received two other prestigious distinctions: the Herbert von Karajan Prize at the Salzburg Easter Festival, where they performed the role of Erda in Wagner's Das Rheingold, and the Austrian Music Theatre Award for Best Newcomer, recognising their performances during the 2024/25 season at the Volksoper Wien.

After completing two years of training at the Opernstudio of the Volksoper Wien in 2024, White joined the company’s soloist ensemble. They have taken on a wide range of roles at the historic Viennese opera house, including Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Frau Reich in Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor, Mary in Der fliegende Holländer, the Pirate King in The Pirates of Penzance, the Third Lady in Die Zauberflöte, Zita in Gianni Schicchi and Martha in The Gospel According to the Other Mary.

In 2024, Jasmin White also debuted at the Dutch National Opera as The Historian in the world premiere of The Shell Trial by Ellen Reid, returning there in 2026 as Juno in Händel's Semele. In December, they once again return to Amsterdam to perform Mary in Wagner’s Der fliegende Holländer.

Other operatic highlights include the Teatro dell’opera di Roma as Erste Geist in Schumann’s Manfred, as the mezzo soloist in John Adams’ El Niño with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the American Modern Opera Company. White also debuted in multiple concert halls across Korea as part of the Queen Elisabeth Competition Laureates Tour.

Over the past few years, they have gone to perform with leading orchestras and ensembles around the world including Il Pomo d'Oro for St John Passion, Alcina (Bradamante) and Jephtha (Hamor), Les Arts Florissants for a summer tour of Il trionfo del Tempo e del Disinganno, the Netherlands Radio Philharmonic Orchestra for the Duruflé Requiem and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra for Dido and Aeneas (Sorceress).

In 2025, Jasmin White performed a trio of Mahler symphonies: Mahler 2 at the Osterfestspiele Salzburg with the Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Esa-Pekka Salonen, and Mahler 3 with the Kansas City Symphony and again with Oregon Symphony. In the same year, they made their BBC Proms debut with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra featuring as a soloist in Beethoven 9.

Jasmin White begins the 2026/27 season performing in Händel's Alcina (Bradamante) in a house debut with Opéra de Lille. On the concert stage, they will feature in Verdi's Requiem at Teatr Wielki Opera Narodowa and will make their debut with Aix-en-Provence festival in the summer.
